A Vital Conversation is a community conversation hosted and facilitated by a local Community Foundation. In smaller communities where statistical data may be lacking, local knowledge takes on greater importance.

Vital Conversations have been very successful in allowing The County Foundation to initiate and fuel important conversations about quality of life and inequalities. To date, Vital Conversations have evolved into collaborative action on Education, Food Security, Public Transportation, and Economy.

In 2023, inclusion and belonging have been the focus of conversations and surveys leading up to the 2023 Vital Signs report.
